Indiana Martial Arts Center Classes

On September 3, 2013, Indiana Martial Arts Center opened it doors in Cicero Indiana.  Our school’s goal is to teach high quality martial arts, which leads to not only a high level of technical skills, but also the character development and leadership skills that are an essential part of learning Taekwondo. Our training includes skills valuable in a child’s daily life: Respect, Self-Control, Focus, Cooperation, Confidence and Integrity. These positive character traits that develop will help kids at home, school and on the playing field.

Indiana Martial Arts Center is owned by Jerry Isenhower.  Jerry began his training in his hometown of Crothersville Indiana when he was just 13 years old.  During his 3 years with Sensei Brock, Jerry trained in Taekwondo and Shorin-Rye Karate.  Work and relocation prevented him from continuing his training with Sensei Brock for nearly 30 years.  In 2002, Jerry and his daughter Rachael, began training with Master Mike Marienthal in Indianapolis Indiana.  Jerry received his Black Belt on December 4, 2003.  In May 2005, Jerry was looking to train in a second martial art and discovered The Indiana Taekwondo Academy in Noblesville Indiana.  This school was owned an operated by Master James Crays.  Jerry began training in Hapkido at the Indiana Taekwondo Academy in May 2005, while still training in Taekwondo with Master Marienthal.  After a year, he moved closer to Noblesville and further from Master Marienthal's school, so he moved his Taekwondo training from Master Marienthal to Master Crays.

During his training with Master Crays, he was exposed to AAU Taekwondo.  After having the privilege of serving as a coach to Master Crays' Junior Olympic Team, he became interested in officiating.  In 2010, Master Crays became the Indiana AAU Taekwondo Sports Director.  Part of Master Crays' responsibilities was organizing the Indiana State AAU Taekwondo Championships each year.  This required training and certification of AAU officials for the tournament.  Jerry became an AAU Certified Official in 2010 and was exposed to the use of electronic scoring systems.  After seeing the cumbersome electronic software that was currently being used and having owned and operated a software programming company for 14 years, he decided in 2010 to write his own electronic scoring software, Quick2Judge.

Jerry continued his training at the Indiana Taekwondo Academy under the instruction of Master Crays and is marketing and selling his Quick2Judge scoring systems.  In 2012, he served as an official at the 2012 AAU National Championships in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

Jerry is now a 4rd Dan in Taekwondo and a 3rd Dan in Hapkido.
